In an Israeli court Adam Shapiro was charged with illegally entering Ashdod port. The only reason why this occurred was because the Israeli navy abducted and took them there.

The US government lied to the media by saying they could not speak about the matter for privacy issues and yet Adam and others had signed documents saying they could.

At the January Town Hall meeting, Adam Shapiro presented his views about Israel's mistreatment of the people of Gaza

Yonatan Shapira

Shapira is an ex Israeli Air Force Captain that is now a human rights activist. This interview must be viewed and heard word for word by all especially Muslims and Jews to create fairness in the world and to move ahead and change our mindsets. Being Muslim and human I believe that this man has a message of unity that is fair to all and we all need to gather together to find a non violent solution to change the situation. There is strength in numbers and words not violence. This interview was on 06/01/09

Quotes:
What is happening in Gaza now is a war crime.
It is not only a war crime but a crime against the Israeli people.
You cannot kill the desire of millions of people to be free.

Jonathan Benartzi

We speak to two Israelis opposed to the assault: Dov Khenin, a Knesset member with the Jewish-Arab party Hadash; and Jonathan Benartzi, an Israeli conscientious objector who spent more than a year in prison for refusing to serve. He also happens to be the nephew of Benjamin Netanyahu, a leading proponent of attacking Gaza and a favorite to win the upcoming Israeli elections.

Free Gaza and Palestine, July 2009http://www.thenation.com/doc/20090803/arraf

Last month I led a group of twenty-one human rights workers on a boat from Cyprus to challenge Israel's naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. We carried toys, medicine, olive tree saplings, toolkits, a fifty-kilo bag of cement and school supplies on our small converted ferry boat...

And though in his widely hailed Cairo speech President Obama made an implicit call for nonviolence as the means to challenge the Israeli occupation, the Obama administration made no public statement on our behalf--nor did it do so three months ago, when my dear friend Bassem Abu Rahme was killed while nonviolently protesting Israeli expansionism in the West Bank that threatens to destroy his village of Bil'in.
